MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES TO HOST GRIZZ GALA JANUARY 23
-Event to benefit Memphis Grizzlies House at
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-
MEMPHIS, Tennessee - Dec. 4, 2009 - The Memphis Grizzlies are inviting fans from across the Mid-South to a "Grizzlies House Party" where they will take their moves from the hardwood to the dance floor for the Grizz Gala presented by Gold Strike Casino Resort on Jan. 23, 2010 benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®.
The blue tie affair will give fans a chance to take part in an evening that brings the class and excitement that the Memphis Grizzlies represent on the court and in the community. Gold Strike Casino Resort's world-class culinary team will prepare a delectable menu with a variety of live action cooking stations that attendees can enjoy with Rudy Gay, O.J. Mayo and other team members. Throughout the evening an open bar will be available to guests who will also have an opportunity to meet and participate in interactive games with Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley and the rest of the Grizzlies roster and coaches.
Grizz Gala goers will also have the opportunity to take part in a silent auction with one of the most impressive collections of sports memorabilia and one-of-a-kind fan experiences in Grizzlies fundraising history. Proceeds from the Grizz Gala will support Memphis Grizzlies House located on the campus of St. Jude.
Opened in 2004, Memphis Grizzlies House is a short-term housing facility located on the campus of St. Jude. Memphis Grizzlies House can accommodate up to 100 St. Jude families and features an enclosed playground, fitness room and basketball court.
"Supporting Memphis Grizzlies House at St. Jude is a pillar of our community efforts, so we are thrilled to bring our fans together for the Grizz Gala," said Greg Campbell, Grizzlies President of Business Operations. "Thanks to the help of Gold Strike Casino Resort, this blue tie event is sure to be an occasion that helps tip-off the New Year in fine fashion."
Organizations and individuals alike are encouraged to take part in an evening that supports the life saving work conducted at St. Jude. Sponsorship packages are available from $3,500 to $1,000 and include such benefits as corporate logos being prominently displayed at the event, exclusive passes for the evening, the opportunity to take an official photo with Grizzlies players and tickets to a select Grizzlies home game. Individual tickets to the Grizz Gala are also available for $125 apiece. Gold Strike will extend a limited number of room packages to ticketed guests.
The event also marks a furthering of the team's commitment to their corporate partnership with MGM MIRAGE'S Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica. In September, Gold Strike Casino Resort hosted the Grizz Girls Finals after being named as the presenting partner of the Grizzlies dance team.
